What is Mod? Mr. Suave's Mod, Mod World is one of the web's original modcasts celebrating mod music, and mod-influenced music from past eras including soul, ska, garage, sixties R&B power pop, punk, britpop, acid jazz, lounge, easy listening and more.
This week Ken and Daren from The Shingles are bringin' the rock and roll to you. They got the old stuff, the new stuff, the in-between stuff, and the stuffed cougar stuff. And it's the good stuff, if you know what I mean.

Once more into the vault my friends, once more into the vault. Step back in time, to a time when the modcast was young and fresh. Take a giant step outside your current listening constraints and journey with me all the way back to those oh so suave days of 2007. I've opened up the vaults and dusted off a couple classic modcasts that I think you'll enjoy. Again.
Here's another great episode of the Mod World, if I do say so myself. Lots of variety here with some soulful sounds, some 60s psychadelia, some mod revival, some pop-punk of the late 70s, and just overall good stuff.

Modcast #50: Wanna Know A Secret?
Welcome to Mr. Suave's Mod Mod World, I've got lots of really interesting songs this week including some ska from Canada's Kingpins, some new stuff from Mando Diao and the Kaiser Chiefs, and some very excellent power pop from Permanent Green Light. Not to mention a bit of soul music, not the least of which is from Ms. Amy Wnehouse. If you want to get a look at Amy Winehouse and see her do Rehab live skip down below to where I've got the video posted. If you haven't heard Rehab yet you absolutely need to check this out. It's amazing how much she has perfectly captured the sixties soul sound. If you've got a question for me drop me a line at rob@mistersuave.com.
This week's show is called Near Misses. Each track here was previously considered for inclusion in a past show, but for whatever reason ended up not making the cut. Not because they're not good songs, but because I chose a different song by the band, or maybe ran out of time in the show, or something like that. At any rate, here then are a whole slew of almost made it tracks, that are getting a second shot at starring in the big show.
Soul music really is the soul of mod. Since the 60s mods have had a love affair with soul music. It's amazing how big (and sometimes surprisingly subtle) an influence soul has been to music overall. Too many songs are really just soul songs gussied up in another genre whether it be garage, or lounge, or sophistopop or whatever. So, this week I'm taking you all out for a serious soul fling. Put your dancing shoes on, and get ready to get down.
Portland is boasting more and better bands everyday it seems. Paradise is certainly one of the better with a very cool sixties, garage vibe going on. This is the new single Humans and Stars from their debut album Diary of an Old Soul.
